D4 A/C

Mine locks on recirculate after 3 secs. Drive yesterday and at around 15 mins a warning came up. Left it on for another 15 mins. Switch recirc off and it clear. The warning did not deactivate the switch....but I suppose it reminds you that if the road is no longer dusty in front you can switch it off.

With the 200.... I can also speak from experience. The one I travelled in for 500kms....I needed a mask. No matter what we did we could not stop the dust coming in. My brother traded it on the return to the dealer. The dealer told him that it does seems to be a problem. He now has a D4.

We have a windows always up, A/C always on policy here at the mines and I can tell you now..

ALL the bigger Toyotas leak dust like theres no tomorrow!!! Interestingly, the POS Hilux dont!

I've a 2009 MY10 SE. Like MOWOG says, the button can be a little tichy but once sussed, is easy. Mine stays on recirc indefinately....and I've never seen a warning come up.

Addition:

Just checked mine before....I hold the button until it starts flashing. It flashes three times and then goes on solid. I quickly let go. If you fail to let go quickly enough once the light is on solid, it switches back off.

For the past 12 months I've had a rental 120 series Prado on site - it was pretty good and we never got a lot of dust in it (provided you know how to use the vents properly).

Now, I've got a brand new 150 series Prado - doesn't matter what you do with it, the dust just pours in through the rear end somewhere. Luckily, it's a site vehicle and I don't get to keep it when my job changes next month. ;)
