Just changed back to normal globes, all fine no troubles, put the LED's in and we're in trouble.
Reading through the link to the add looks like I might have bought the wrong globes without the required resistor. - I think.
Any sugestions ?

I prefer to stay with the CANBUS safe LED globes, they cost more but you should not have any issues using them.
My earlier links where for these globes.
As for the blinker bulbs yes I fitted seperate resistors for each side myself in line to get the dashboard indicator to flash at the correct speed.
Update- Five years on my LED brake light globes failed. All my problems returned. All fixed now and an update to this old thread as some links show product no longer sold
Brake/ tail lights
1157LEdP21/2wphillipsLEd from Autobarn comes in a pack of 2. 12 year warranty $54.99
or BAY15D from Bright lights
BAY15S fit everything else but as per Rich's comment you need a resistor for the LED on the indicators.
A two pack Load resistors Part LR12/2 is avaible at Autobarn and other places is only needed for the blinkers. The Brake lights are the cause of 99% of the faults with my Disco.
Thanks again to Rich and others for 5 years of trouble free brake lights!
I assumed they would all be the same
They are in Doncaster Autobarn Phone: (03) 9840 1131 -Sorry.
two pack Load resistors Part LR12/2 I mentioned work well in the blinkers in my Disco but do allow a tiny flicker on my two trailers. I am not at all bothered but added this as some might be
My replacement 2009 Disco has incandescent globes! Hail damage to my 2005 saw my nice led globes leave with it. Looks like Phillips no longer make the globe part I had in my brake/tail lights [bighmmm]
Just ordered pack of EL24592 * 1236zREDB2 Vision LED Bayonet REd 12v P21/5w BAY15D PR for $54 from Autobarn for my new 2009 Disco. Already noted a few quirks in my replacement which I assume might be the globes or brake switch again.
Noted Amazon might have this or similar but I am not certain yet either are the right ones.
Makes my chuckle thinking about a gent I met at Jaycar recently who picked up a very cheap Disco with lots of problems sorted by a new brake switch and globes. It is a pain that Landrover does not help fix this known issue in my view. It is not hard except for the fact the parts keep changing and luckily improving
Noted also a american site selling a mostly LED full replacement option SMOKE 2005-2009 Land Rover Discovery 3 LR3 LED SMD Rear Brake Lamp Tail Lights | eBay
I will post if this part works tomorrow when it arrives and is installed.
mate how are those new autobarm LED globes working out? Did you need load resistors etc?
I still have not done anything to replace mine. Would like to replace parking globes, all indicators and tail / stop. number plate. $$$$$ puts me off though.
All the LED in my stop/tail, reversing, Blinkers with resistors and several interior lights worked flawlessing in the 2005 (RIP [bigsad] bloody insurance companies)
Given the incandescent lights seemed to blow every 6 months or so, cause me loads of mysterious issues and fraustraing faults till noticed the blown globe, I think the cost of 10 years (warranty) on the LED options is a no brainer. I appreciate they cost a bit up front but still think they are cheaper when the real cost of the OEM supplied globes.
Left hand Blinker indicator on my new 2009 is flickering oddly and I assume I alread have a blown globe.
There is much cheaper version of the LED globes at several online stores. The first ones I put in lasted for several years. I could say precisely if I looked on the date of the first post in this thread. [thumbsupbig]
I'm in the process of documenting what ones I need. fleabay seems to have a good range of philips globes and the philips load resistors which clip on to each of the terminal leads, fairly simple.
Now to track down the indicator globes - fleaby seller has them for $118 per pair with philips load resistors - yikes!! 3 packs needed for indicators and reversing.
then onto high beam and fog lights . . . any suggestions there?
The little door indicator globes may be a pain to get out assume you have to go from inside the door?
