You have to view the colour in person, pointless viewing that colour chart on the Land Rover page, not even close to the colour of the car.

Replacement colour for Stornaway grey is Orkney grey.

    Cheers Baz.

Just had some paint done on my D4 Rimini Red.. It didn't seem to be an issue. Longer term it may be.

Terry they just get the paint code and mix them. Panel beaters can match just about most colours.

Terry, the color codes are basically a formula, this when placed in a computer will gives exact amounts of what is required to make up the full color.

    Lads,

Thanks very much for all the replies. Just what I was after.

I've been stalking the local dealership looking and scanning carsales.com for more of an indication.

As popular as white is I agree it does look the better. The added bonus of the $1800 didn't even cross my mind. Bonus. I was just going to be different.

So to short list it's Firenze Red, White or the darker grey...

    Decisions, decisions, decisions.

    D4REW,
    Here is my 2c worth.
Most peolpe will choose a colour based purely on looks, not practicality, which is important as you are looking at your car on a daily basis.
Some cars look good certain colours. For example, IMHO white looks great in the D4, but not in the D3.
Apart from looks, you really need to consider the following: -
    • Are you a clean freak - Don't get a dark colour. You will be forever washing it.
    • Are you likely to be going bush alot - Bush pin stripes show up more on darker vehicles. White is best for this. Even silver will show them up.
    • Is it important that your car keeps cooler - darker colours will attract the heat.
    • Re-sale - Again, scratches and imperfections will show up more on a darker coloured car.
    • Individuality - Did you want your car to be different to every other buggers?
    • Do you want to be seen easily on the road - Don't get a dark colour.
    • Matching colours - Sounds funny, but I have heard of peolpe buying a vehicle to better match the colour of their caravan etc.
    • Accessories - You may want to think about what you are puting on the vehicle. For instance, a black snorkel will stand out on a white vehicle, as will a black bullbar.
    So much to think about.
When you way up all of the above, the lighter vehicle comes out on top.

    Cheers, Craig
