I can and have disabled mine in my 2012 D4. The light will stay on after I use the key to turn it off.Quote:

@ discotwinturbo: That is interesting, Brett. Mine is also a MY12 D4 yet the place where the airbag switch would be has a blank plastic panel. No key hole/switch.
You wouldn't happen to have an 8 gear transmission and left-hand drive too :D
I wonder how many variations between cars there are.
X2 Only a plastic plug.
Yep...got the 8 speed....but in right hand drive.Quote:

As mine only has rear sensors, it also doesn't have the switch. However I doubt that I'd use the switch even though I often reverse into tall vegetation because I wouldn't trust myself to remember to switch them back on. As it is, the sensors aren't re-activated when a trailer is disconnected until the iginition is cycled, which has caught me out a couple of times. BTW, I suspect the D4 is similar to the D3 whereby the switch only grounds 1 wire from the PDC ecu.
It should be like the reversing alarms on trucks, it starts beeping and you can cancel the alarm when you go out of reverse the alarm re-sets.
Maybe the button does only cancel for the current operation - I might have to read the book!
