I also have a Traxide kit and fridge in the back and for me anyway its a pain in the bum if you want a drink while driving.

The LR cooler is extremely convenient and does the job well plus you can put a open drink back in it and keep it cool while driving.

On top of that it adds resale value and attractiveness to any Disco.

    Hi Terry,

I booked and paid for on Friday evening. Spoke to Nick directly and was shipped of Friday afternoon UK time with bunch of others.

Thanks your email, and agree your points.

Do you have your cubby fridge wired to your second battery ? I would like to keep mine on when out of the car on some occasions.

    Cheers

    Hi Terry,

I'm probably in the same boat as you & looking at it on a Want vs Need basis. I've ordered a set of those 19" Coopers which are yet to arrive. I like the fridge but really would have liked a compressor type. I think yes I'll probably get one.. My Engle is out at the moment as I couldn't fit the big pram, my mountain Bike & the dog all in the back when we went away.

    Hi Gota,

mine came factory fitted so it runs off of the starter battery and it stays on for ages after turning the vehicle off before it cuts out.

It will be interesting to see if there isn't some sort of original wiring for the fridge already there. From what I have read many modern cars have only one wiring loom for all models.

    cheers,
    Terry

Don't tell her, maybe she won't notice except when her sunnies are cold when she gets them out of the cubby cooler.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Didn't Customs fit it?
A bonus for coming to Aus, tell her most cars in Aus have them standard!

Hmmm maybe not, she knows how much a pain Customs where!

So Mike which is it, do you like being smacked or not? ...

For years I have thought it was a case all Pommy men enjoyed a good smacking on the Bot bot after watching on the news countless Pommy politicians being outed for being tied up and smacked ...often wearing either female underwear or Nazi uniforms. ...

I leave that kind of stuff to Max Mosley

I can get away with a few things, she didn't notice the brand new steering wheel I'd had fitted (came from Nick at Yeovil) until I pointed it out to her 2 weeks after the car had arrived here

    Hi,
I transferred my LR Cooler from my D3 to my D4 when I upgraded. Wiring for the Cooler was there in the D4 already, slightly different connector if remember correctly. Had to make a slight modification to allow for the Ipod connector in the D4 (didn't have that in the D3)
I actually connected my cooler to my 2nd battery. Seems that the cooler needs around 13v or more to work, so cuts out when the engine is switched off. (haven't measured exact voltage, but definitely requires more than 12.5v)
Would prefer a cutout at about 11v when it is connected to my 2nd battery, but haven't worked out how to do this yet.
Did notice that there was a "Waeco" brand name, made in Germany I seem to recall stamped in the base of the cooler

And Yes, I find it useful. Good for cans or water bottle, even snacks or chocolates for a long drive.
