Interior leather colour

When ordering my vehicle the e-diff was a priority. By the way I chose Stornaway Grey with ebony and have been quite pleased with the combination. It is the first black leather that I have owned. I have mainly had European cars in the past that have had grey to tan upholstery, my old Falcon ute and my wife's Renault Laguna both have grey.

I have added a number of the accessories that you have mentioned and like you my preference was the Safari snorkel as it is robust and sealed to the air box. Be aware that you will experience a slight, and I mean slight, amount of noise on spool up of the turbo with a snorkel fitted.

I chose the Opposite Lock bull bar and had it color coded to suit the vehicle. Instead of the full rear bar I chose an Outback Accessories rear wheel carrier from OL and once again had it color coded. It is very strong, looks good, very easy to operate, saves heaps of weight and a HF antenna and work light can be fitted to it if you wish. Being color coded I think that the bull bar and the RWC look as though they are part of the vehicle and 'set it off'.

It sounds as though you are setting your vehicle up for some remote travel and as you will be relocating the spare tyre to the rear of your vehicle have you considered an auxiliary fuel tank? It is a good addition if you are traveling to remote areas or long distances or towing. I know that some people do see the value in them but I am quite pleased with mine.

As others have stated and whatever accessories you choose you will be pleased with the D4 when arrives.

what sort of price did you get quoted to fit the LR snorkle ........i am planing to fit one and was quoted $1400 by my LR dealer to fit the LR snorkle .....this seem a tad expensive versus other brands ....although to save future warranty arguments i will probably go this way

My Freelander 2 had the almond leather & carpet. It was a mixture of both almond & dark grey plastic paneling on the dash & other parts. I was very concerned about the almond colored carpet in the load space area with the pram, bike, dog, shopping & Engle going in & out. However the almond seats did hide dust & grit & even sesame seeds if a burger was the food of choice on a trip. The first time I got into the car the black sole of my shoe marked the carpet & never came out.

My D4 has the ebony interior & matching carpet. Although I'm less concerned about the dirt showing, absolutely everything shows on the seats. Any dust or sand/dirt food or even sunscreen shows up easily. No matter how much I clean it, it still looks dirty. My old HSV Maloo had the black leather but that was a non eating, smoking childless non family car.

In my opinion I would go for almond seats & trim with ebony carpet. If that would ok that is....

I bought the Safari snorkel for about $580 & fitted it myself. My understanding is the LR snorkel is a raised air intake & fixes onto the outside only.

not sure i understand the difference between a 'raised air intake" and a "snorkle" ....are they not the same thing ???... is the LR one some thing less than it should be ...it sure costs enough ??..............

A snorkel is sealed: designed for wading. A raised intake is to raise the point where air is taken in: above the dust cloud. LR is just attached to the wing and not sealed. it is surprising that it will keep any water out but it can be modified to seal.
Safari make a snorkel.

This is no longer true. The hose between the RAI and the air intake for the D4 is sealed. This hose can be retrofitted to D3s.

I think it is just a hose between the inside of the wing and the inlet replacing the porous one and it is not truly sealed. I could be wrong as I have not physically seen it.

It IS sealed. There is also a gasket to fit between the RAI and the guard.

Try Mortels @ Ruterford, Newcastle. I have had seat covers made for the last two Discos there - D1 & D3. Top Shelf gear & no problems what so ever over that time. Pricey though but you get what you pay for.;)
