There's also a landrover technical bulliton regarding brake pedal adjustment causing delay. We had loads of cases here in wa but l/r was not helpful at all while investigations were going on we were replacing switches which fixed for a short period then fault returns with no faults logged there attitude was why only your dealership and no one elses
I had the random throttle delay problem and then just before the 26,000 km service, I had the christmas tree of fault/error lights. At the service they adjusted the brake light switch to reduce the sensitivity of its operation. The service advisor told me it only needed adjustment, not replacement.
He also told me that the adjustment needed to be carried out with the assistance of a service computer and hence carrying a spare may not be enough to fix the problem. My service was 2 months and 3,000 km ago and there haven't been any problems since (hope I haven't challenged the LR god to teach me a lesson).
Hopefully there is a service bulletin on this so that the problem can be eliminated for everyone.

Could someone who has purchased the brake light switch post up the part number please? There's one new on the bay. It I'd like to double check if it's the correct one..

That's the same part number of the genuine one that I bought ex UK as a spare.
Same number as on mine, as I have said previously FoMoCo stamped on the back. This is the one that you want.

Yep same part number as i purchased from the local dealer. Price was $25.23.
I will let you know what they charge me to fit it. Based on the previous comments here i wont even attempt to do that myself.

I have found the Ford Part No. on the Disco3 & LRR Forums, the Item is Motorcraft SW6572 Brake Light Fail Switch.
It can be found on Amazon & ebay.
A possible fix has been identified.
The dealer had a look at the brake switch adjustment. It was out. However it appears that when i had opposite lock install the UHF and second battery they routed a big bunch of cables through the firewall. These ran across the top of the brake light switch and have moved the switch over time. It is possible it may have interfered with the operation of the switch.
The switch has been adjusted and the cable tied up elsewhere.
Purnell were excellent.. They didnt play the blame game or try to charge me for it. I will be having a talk to opposite lock and asking them to reroute the cables.
Hopefully the delayed throttle will now stop.

I had ongoing problems with both delayed acceleration and throttle cutting out. After ongoing investigations I was finally asked if I was a left footed braker as the diagnostics suggested braking and accelerating at the same time - and the D4 electronics don't allow this. Turns out that my fat right foot was occasionally catching the edge of the brake pedal and pushing this down when accelerating from a standstill. Not sure if this is a possible cause for you but the gap between the brake pedal and the wheel well isAvery tight. a faulty brake light switch would cause similar problems.
