    D4 Options List

    Hi All,

Around the excitement of planning for a new D4 in the coming months, I am trying to work through the best way of getting the car I want, eg price and options. There is obviously money to be saved by getting a demo or something that the dealer has on the lot new rather than a factory order.

In saying that I am trying to understand what can potentially be fitted to a car already in the dealers hands as obviously there are some extras that I am prepared to forego and others that I am not. If I cannot find the right car then I will order fom the factory, but potentially will have to compromise.

Does anyone know on the below items what has to be fitted at the factory and what can be done at the dealer?

    - Sunroof
    - Bi zenon lights
    - ICE – would assume factory
    - Towbar
    - Driver and passenger armrests
    - Front parking sensors
    - Aircon rear
    - Active diff - Factory
    - Technology pack – what exactly does this include as it seems to be some key elements packaged up?

    - Heated seats, are these factory as they are no listed in opions?

    Thanks Guys.

    Hi JayBee75,

As far as l'm aware what you have listed are all factory options with exception of tow adaptor that can be purchased from the dealer (but do this before, or 1-2 weeks after your car arrives, to avoid a little bit of luxury car tax). If you want to add any other genuine Land Rover accessories (eg. Roof rails, mats, side protection strips, headlight protectors) you are better off purchasing direct from a UK Land Rover dealer (l use Duckworth Land Rover). Landed in Aus they are usually 50% or more cheaper than the same thing from your local dealer. All accessories come with fitting instructions.

Heated seats l think are a bit over the top in a Disco . Perhaps in a Rangie .....

    Regards Trif.

    Jaybee,
If you want these options, it is way beter to order a vehicle, you will be lucky to find a vehicle sitting at a dealer with all these options that "You" require.
It is also cheaper to order, Eg: the Bi-Xenons from memory are only a small price increase, but to buy headlights individually cost in the vicinity of around $900 ea (x2 plus labour to fit etc-you get my drift)
I have heard of a couple of people fitting the Front park sensors & Bi-Xenons, have tried FP sensors & would not work.
So it may also be luck of the draw.

    Good luck.

Thanks Pete, pretty much confirms my thoughts. Maybe able to find a D4 with a few of the options but I know I will have to order to get exactly what I want. It will come down to car, price etc, finding that balance.

The only confusing thing is the ICE, premium nav, tv tuner all listed separately. You would think that they are one in they same if you put in the premium ICE system? Or do you literally have to put in each thing?

Can you have the Tv tuner and not the sat nav?, or the sat nav and not the ICE?

Very confusing when I had the X5 you could option up each thing individually or say order the Tech pack which was each element combined as a package at a discounted price, almost like a value pack.

    Thanks

Can't have Nav without the ICE upgrade. But you don't have to go Premium ICE, just the High ICE. Can't have TV without Nav.

    So, it works like this:

If really want the TV option, you must get the Nav and therefore must get upgraded ICE.

If you really want Nav, you must get the upgraded ICE.

You can just upgrade the ICE on its own.

If you are going Nav, you may as well go the Technology Pack - Nav, Camera and Front Sensors.

    Cheers

Pretty much sounds like your after a HSE with a couple of options.

The heated seats come with the cold pack and I believe that includes heated front screen and mirrors. I to think this is a good idea, you don't have to be a Rangie owner to deserve having a warm bum on a cold morning.

If you live in the country or drive a lot in the country at night then the adaptive head lights are a god send, they really work well when there is no street lighting.

If your into music the Logic 7 stereo upgrade is also worth the extra money. I would always have the cooler box as well now, they are such a good thing on long trips.

Of course an e-diff is a must if for nothing else other then resale value.

The one thing I would not bother with is a sun roof, water leaks are a pain and eventually they will leak because the drains block up and our back moon roof has developed a crack for some reason.

Personally I reckon the HSE is the best value model of the whole line up, add in the couple of extra's and you have a great vehicle.

    cheers,
    Terry

    Confusing, yes definitely.

Is there an actual order for all the entertainment system?

I am wanting sat nav and a good sounding sound system so I am thinking nav and high ice? Is that the largest screen you can get?

Obviously the large screen could be for sat nav and only premium ICE? Or does high ice also come with the large screen?

Sorry for all the questions, but I have never seen such a complex offering for a car entertainment systems, they normally make it easy by packaging up.

    Thanks

    Thanks Terry
yeah HSE would be perfect but don't want to go over $95k as a limit is have set. If I ordered a HSE then I could not afford it, there are a few already at dealers with small k's that would work but it's then sacrificing and compromising on what options are a must and what are not.

Thanks on the sunroof, I was really set on it, as I love mine in the D2 and no probs to date. Do LR do a single roof above the driver? Or is the only sunroof the 3 roof across the vehicle?
Can they fit say a prestige sunroof like the dealers used to do, afterwards?

    Thanks

Just got a 3.0 SE with rear diff, privacy glass and vision pack (gives you the 7 inch screen, adaptives, high beam assist, surround cameras with tow assist and also comes with high ICE due to the screen)

Screens are the same. Premium just has more speakers and higher output.

So even without the Nav, if you option the High or Premium ICE you get the 7" touch screen. The Nav option also includes "say what you see" voice control.

Say what you see (means "see on the screen") lets you operate the the radio, nav and phone via voice control.

Vision Pack: The Vision Pack includes Surround Camera System including Approach Lamps, Automatic Headlamps with High Beam Assist and Tow Assist/Tow Hitch Assist. It also comes with Xenon Adaptive Front Headlamps and Cornering Lamps. $2,770.

    Cheers

    Dan
