    Mate, those plastic ones are junk. Mine broke just as the wing nuts were beginning to bite as they were being screwed down.

    Hi Ferret and while I have only just started using them and I have fitted a few myself, that is the first one I have heard of breaking.

    The original steel brackets were a good fit but for some unknown reason, the supplier changed the bracket and it is not suitable for use with a D3 or D4 set up and this is why I went to the plastic ones. They allow for better positioning of the battery so it does not touch anything.

    That's not the point and can I cover you for the additional cost, plus, did your fix give you some room for battery positioning so it didn’t touch anything?
