As for not being able to enter destinations in the satnav while moving, you can if you use the "go to" function which ironically, I find more of a safety issue than typing in the address...go figure. If there is a way around this, I'd be happy to hear it.

I see earlier on you mention fitting a Rear wheel carrier, why not just use that for access to your rack?
You step on the rear bumper, centre wheel support shaft, top of tyre and then up on top. Worked great for me.
Otherwise for easy access to the rear of rack just have the top tailgate closed and stand on the lower one.
Thanks Rich. I might hold off on the rear wheel carrier, for a while, as there is less urgency as I can't put the Bfg at on the car (not legal), so if I go with a 255/60/18 it will fit underneath with out deflation.
Still looking to get a rack I can walk on, so a ladder will be handy.
plus the other reason is aesthetics :D

Rock sliders are on!!!! Took about 2hrs last night being careful. All I can say is, damn those yellow plastic nipples!

I installed a LR ladder earlier this year. I had to drill out two existing holes and needed a nut insert tool similar to a rivet gun. All up took about two hours to install.

two existing holes - or new holes? if you drill holes - what stops the rust? do you have to use a primer afterwards?Quote:
