Great to see AndreM, that will be my next mood let me know how you go in a month time. Bruce Davies mentioned to see a power increase you would need a remap suited to the new Intercooler do you feel any change in performance as it is?
The way I see it, you would need a remap to take advantage of the cooler air, Is there any more turbo lag with the larger volume of air required to be moved?
I'm taking a run this w/e so will let you know about the performance although I have not noticed anything stunning so far.
When researching, I emailed Pete at Bell Autos in UK (BAS remap). He said the intercooler would really help with breathing and heat and can be done before or after a remap as engine and sensors are complex enough to deal with the changes.
I suspect there a bit of black magic in all this and we would only know the real answers to performance with a dyno or a race track , and some controlled tests with different remaps.
Yeah, a Dyno is the way to go!
Good to see. I have the quote back for postage on same package with a De-cat pipe included (only offroad officer).
BAS Remap already on way after sending my ECU data a while back.
I can get basic acceleration readings with what I have but there are so many variables I wont be writing a thesis but should get the gist of improvement.
Where do you get these magic pants ?Quote:
the best dyno is in the seat of your pants
They would save me lots as getting engine and chassis dyno time is expensive on my bikes and cars. There's a market out there for these pants.
I cant feel it with my pants each few millimetres I extend my 1935 Red Hunter bike intake manifold.
Hello D3viate,
Seriously if its a case of needing a dyno to tell if it is making more power then any increase is pretty average.
That is what I was referring to, if you can't feel it in the seat of your pants then the increase isn't really worth measuring.
As for dyno's, well I don't know where you are located however if you need to save a few bucks you can always come down to Wakefield Park Raceway and use my Dynojet dyno for your bike if you like. If your up to it I can always arrange a track day for you with either your cars or bikes as well and if your into motorcycle racing I'm sure I can sort something out for you on that front as well. ..;)
cheers,
Terry
