Thread: 18 inch tyres for D3

I have just fitted the new style General Grabber AT as opposed to the AT22 which use a more modern style of tread pattern. First impressions are that they are a little quieter but squirm around a little more on loose gravel. No rain yet so I can't say what they are like in the wet.

What size AT3 you running?

And the story you were told.. They lied..
Edge wear is:

Hi Tombie,
I am running 265/70/17's. As mentioned, on a different vehicle, not a Disco.
Can't confirm the excessive cornering forces etc, but the info did come from a very reliable source.

I have been using Kuhmo "Road Venture" APT 255/60-R18 112v.
Cost me $260 each delivered (to the far North of WA) through TEMPE Tyres (online).
They have a tread wear rating of 600, and most of my driving is in very hot conditions on bitumen (dash showing 52C going for a coffee at 11am last Saturday).
They go OK on sand as long as I drop pressure to at least 24lbs/sq, but really not an off road/rocks type tyre
I do lots of high speed long distances and have never had a problem and get reasonably good wear out of a set (70K before the wheel aligners messed them up with a very bad alignment.)
Now into my second set, so worth a look if you are mostly bitumen and or reasonable surfaces.

Is the offset on your GOE/Compomotive rims the same as the OEM rims?

What modification did you have to do to your car to fit 285's with GOE rims?

I am thinking about the GOE rims with the 285 Bridgestone 697's at 799mm diameter.

Will this size fit in spare wheel space albeit deflated?

How much do you thing you would get for a set of MY12 SE oem 19" rims with GG At's?

Hi Chuck,
No modifications were made to fit the rims. They do rub slightly on the front of the chassis rails on full lock (mainly in reverse, hardly going forward).
The spare does fit in the spare wheel space, however the tyre has to be deflated. The Cooper LTZ's are 800mm OA diameter.

The offset is not the same as OEM:

OEM = +53mm
GOE = +44mm

so the tyre "stands out" a further 9mm
