Ha! As somebody who commutes on a bike every day, I used to be inclined to agree... sadly, though, these days most motorcyclists I see are also guilty of not doing a head-check...Quote:

My experience is that (most) bike riders look (much) further ahead, turn their head before changing lanes, have much better situation awareness and are much more fussy about vision (ie dirty windows and windscreens, stickers obstructing vision and dangly things on mirrors).

Just received my mirror from the UK (cost around $40 incl shipping) removed old one without problem but when trying to fit new one broke it :mad:!
Called Trivett to quickly source new one and they quoted me AU$136 that is s a joke how we get ripped off here.
Need to get new my old one fitted but don't want to break it either any suggestions??
tried the soft way and medium way for around 10 minutes but just could not get it to properly clip on is there something I'm missing?
Ok I answer my own question;
After i was told by a LR specialist it would require quite a bit of force to press mirror in (which broke it) I figured out the correct way:
To remove:
1. tilt mirror as much as possible to the inside
2. if you use a torch you see a lip on the bottom which you can un-clip with a screw driver the mirrow can then be removed with your hand's
3. Disconnect the two heating cables and remember which was where
To fit new one:
1. Connect cables
2. place upper smaller lip first and ensure rest is aligned properly (best done kneeing down and looking inside)
3. push bottom lip in (does not need to much force)

Yep; I've had some interesting near misses as well - but no connects.
What intrigues me is that my D4 has a flat mirror on the pass. side, and a convex mirror on the drivers side. Does anybody have anything different as OEM? Seems to me to be wrong way around, and I'm wondering if I can lodge a warranty claim for incorrect fitting (from new) and get them swapped/replaced. I will have to fix the pass. one, or SWMBO will wipe out something soon...
Its a bit hard to turn your head to see if there's anything in the inside lane when your driving a semi with a 48' trailer behind you..:wasntme:

I wondered why at first but the series one we called 'HECter' has two internal mirrors and when I started reversing the second one came into play as it was pointed to see along side the near side, it works a treat.
More mirrors! I am going to copy the idea of some of the Japanese vans and place a mirror outside of the back window to help with reversing up to a trailer.
The other is one on the bull bar to see where the nearside wheel is, although I don't really need that one, as I annoy the SWMBO by squashing drinks cans on the road, by running them over with the near side wheel.
