Relief is the word! Sometimes, just sometimes a bargain does turn out to be a proper bargain, other times a bargain = money pit. Fingers crossed this one will be OK. Autobox only got as far as second, but felt good. Brakes were a little spongy, but that was probably down to the lack of use for 10 months or so. Drivers window switch on the master panel won't work at the moment, but I can pull that apart and have a look later.Quote:

My neighbour came round this afternoon to help me again. He found out what I was intending to get done, then he went back over the fence to get some of his tools.
Next thing I know, 10 minutes later he's trundling along the front fence in his Bobcat, tools in the bucket (it was nearer than going up to the house for the keys to his Ranger apparently :lol2:). Then, all of a sudden, it just ground to a halt as he went to turn through our front gate, and refused to restart.
After some tinkering, we decided it wasn't going anywhere, so made the decision to tow it down to my shed to find out what was wrong, rather than block the driveway any longer.
Anyway, the D1 refused to start (flat battery), the Merc has no tow bar, so it was down to the D3 to drag (a Bobcat is hydraulically driven and steered) the Bobcat down my gravel drive to the shed. First low, still on it's racing slicks, on a gravel drive dragging a locked up 3t Bobcat and only once did it break traction.
Seriously impressive for a vehicle that still looks a little like something out of Mad Max 3 with all it's missing panels.
Good news though - I didn't have to sit on a milk crate this time as I'd replaced the driver's seat now. :D
So instead of spending the afternoon straightening the D3 bodywork some more, we spent the time dismantling the Bobcat engine and hydraulics. Looks like the injector pump had died.
Just wait till you can drive it properly, then you'll be really impressed;)Quote:
