I have those items and a truck load more on the car. Did not inform them.
I have Allianz and so far it has paid for a Transfer case and an e-diff.
Nobody at the LR dealers even mentioned anything about the extras when the components were identified to be replaced other than wanting a look and a chat about the gear I had fitted myself.
Paid about $2300 18 months ago so it has certainly paid for itself.
You'd have to be a real nit picker (thats being nice) to say a bull bar or long range tank had something to do with your Tranny going or the items I had replaced.
BIG mistake just going for any Insurance on anything based on price, find out how they payout when the **** hits the fan, that's what counts, sleeping easy.

From what I have heard this mob refuse to pay out on anything, they will say it is wear and tear and deny the claims. Even a compressor that fails will be classified as a wear and tear item.

I bought the same warranty for my D3 (3 years for $2400), and 6 months later the height compressor failed and was repaired with no argument at a cost of around $2k I believe. I then sold the car after 4 years and 65k on the clock, and got 70% of what I'd paid for it new, helped by the fact the car had 2 years warranty left. Hence I believe the warranty more than paid for itself. I'd like to go for the Alliance Platinum but it's only 2 years so when I sell my D4 it'll have only 12 months left on it. The Avea 4 year option would give me 3 extra years when I sell it which should help to allay any prospective purchaser's reliability fears. However, I've not heard from anyone who has used Avea so I don't know whether they'll be as accommodating as Alliance seem to be, judging by the feedback on this thread. If anyone has experience with Avea I'd be keen to hear from you.

I was just quoted $2500 for an extended 2 year "factory" warranty through a Melbourne dealer. I'm assured that it's the Allianz warranty. This was for a car that I'm not even buying from them.

Mind you, the the car in question is less than a year old. I was told that there was several "tiers" to the pricing and that it is cheaper to do it when the car is newer.

Have I missed something?
