    New "upgraded" air compressor

    A few weeks ago my 2008 D3 came up with Suspension failure, normal height only, and earlier this week it had its 4th air compressor fitted.

    The dealer told me that this time an upgraded air compressor has been fitted, but they were not too clear about the difference, apart from cost, which is about $2000 instead of the $1200 I have paid before.

    Does anyone know about this upgraded compressor?

    The new compressor has been around for a while now.

    I think you got taken on the price.

    Garry is right on the price. But I think the compressor referenced is the old one. Try searching for LR044360 - AMK compressor is what you are after.

    Price aside I would question why you are on your 4th compressor in 4-5 yrs.

    Seems way many.

    I have recently replaced mine for the first time after neat 4 yrs.

    Oh Ok - sorry - I picked it up via the UK forum and they indicated it was the new one.

    The AMK is a physically bigger unit, it hangs noticeably lower than the older one.
