Thanks Andrew - I ended up reversing the mounts after that trip (was the first with it) - and now much better.
No rear air (ATM) just finished installing the ARB compressor in the aux battery compartment and happy with it being used from there

My apologies for the slow reply, I no longer have the D3 and didn't take any pics from when I fitted them but its pretty basic, you take off the plastic sill cover and there are various securing threaded bolt holes that run under D3/D4's that most rock sliders bolt straight up to. I'm not sure if Brad sells his sliders anymore, shame if he doesn't as they were very good and stopped alot of damage that would have happened otherwise.
OK guys 2021 what rocksliders are people buying? Looking at the APT units, but was more looking for something with a full step not just the bar. For D4 2011.
Cheers

APT will do with or without cover plates, but only top or bottom, not both. Spoke to Ben last week, ordered mine with Alu top chequer plate.
Yes, the plastic sills have to be taken off, plus there may be a strip needed for the bottom edge of the door to seal against the slider, as it's skinnier than the plastic sill.
