    Yes Rich you are right. I got another 2ltrs in it before it started to flow.
    Operation is back to normal now.
    I'll have to find an day where the wife doesnt need the car and I can have a good crack at it with the time pressure!.

    Box all good now.

    "I've mentioned before somewhere here that we have a fairly steep hill straight out of our drive. When the cars cold and going up the hill it makes an additional noise up the front with a slight vibration. Kind of like a whine for a few seconds. Once car is warm its gone and only really returns if on steep hills i.e. under additional load."

    Oil change didn't seem to help this bit but made it louder actually.

    Put 1 x tube of Shudder Fix in and that additional sound is virtually gone.
    Two tubes prob would have done it but wasn't enough room left for the extra fluid.

    Guess it could be a glazed torque convertor giving me the sound.

    Calis - just wondering... should you be using low range to get up the steep hill on your driveway? It might be a bit more sympathetic to your auto box.

    Good question!. Its the road directly off of my driveway and it only goes for about 100meters so a bit impractical.

    Update> the whine is back. i spoke too soon.
    I'm wondering now if its not gearbox but something else like steering pump or AC etc as I read some elsewhere on here about experiencing a similar whine from those components.

    Hi Calis,
    I have done the conversion and to get those five screws I went o Bunnings and bought a torx head set of allen shaped keys, still a bit fiddly but very possible. Putting the steel pan back on is easier because it is shallower and they supply new bolts.
    When the plastic pan drops when you get all the bolts out it does require quite a sharp jerk to snap the plastic pipe that goes into the gearbox off, becareful of the delicate parts between the plastic pan and the gearbox.
    If the engine wasn't running oil will come out of the plug when you removed it. Also make sure you have the temp right after you have done the change, you can check this with an infra red gun if you have one. The temp of the gearbox is important when checking the oil level.......I think it is 41 to 57 degrees C or something like that.
    One quick drive up the hill outside you house should fix that, don't bother with the boat that would be overkill..........
