I have had mine checked several times and each time no adjustments were required.
Under and or over inflation can cause uneven wear on tyres.
My D4 has done 15,000kms on a set of Cooper AT3's. When I went in to get the wheels rotated and an alignment check at 10,000km the guys said I did not need to have the alignment done.
When the car gets serviced (every 6 months) they do not do the alignment. It is not a dealer, but a Land Rover Specialist. So maybe you are being taken for a ride.

Robert,
Like others I have not had any major issues with alignment or tire wear.
I have had both the alignment and balance check a few time but my current set have around 55,000 -60,000 km on them with still a reasonable amount left.
I have noticed sometimes, especially after a hard off road trip that shoulders can start to feather or wear differently so I just book in a rotation/balance and alignment. Generally you can feel a bit of a shudder through the wheel when something is not right.
Might be worth trying a different tire place and one that is a specialists in Land Rovers and D3/D4's.

Hi Robert
The dealer you're visiting has a wheel alignment/brake efficiency diagnostic tool they charge ~$50 for each service. It checks your alignment and brake biases. It's not compulsory but they will include it as standard on the job when you book in. They use it for all makes serviced on the site. You have every right to decline that part of the service is an optional extra.
I would only have them do it if you had concerns about your tyre wear.
50000 may not be special, but they wore out evenly, so my assumption would be that it is more likely the tyres and not the alignment that were the factor in the mileage achieved.
If you can't feel the alignment issues and it isn't showing up as uneven wear then even if it exists itis essentially irrelevant.
The 'fault' is more in the vein of the excessive alignment specification tolerances that can contribute to excessive tyre wear. Keeping close to the ideal settings makes a huge difference.
