Can't say I've ever tried stopping the engine whilst moving; from experience, find the loss of power steering and brakes too big a risk.

Also don't forget the dial retracts when you switch off, albeit not immediately.

Can only comment on the Jag I drove with the 8 Speed .... Unbelievably smooth 😃:)
