    Ok the guy Vaughan emailed me a price, he forgot to add in the jack price!
    That was only the shipping price, the correct total price per unit is $91.
    ( Still can change due to currency exchange rate but should not be too much of a change)

    Import duties will be applicable too in that case making them close to double the original price so I'll withdraw my interest. I think jacking the chassis is the wrong principle although I haven't done anything about a portable way to jack the wishbones yet.

    Maybe we need to keep it down to under $1000 total to stop the import duty.
    Possibly only 10 units, I'll get another quote.

    I guess the real consideration is if these jacks are a good option for a disco then how much are they to buy here in comparison to the revised price Rich can get them for?

    If Rich can get them for substantially less then they are still a good buy.

    Doesn't the import duty/GST only apply to the value of the goods only? Based on what you originally posted the actual jack price is about $36 (freight $55 IIRC). If that is the case then 27 jacks could be accommodated with in the $1000 GST threshold. If I'm right then the additional quantity beyond 10 could be ordered if need be....

    The $1000 threshold is for the value of the goods. If the goods value exceeds $1000 then GST and Duty is applied to the value of the goods and the shipping. So yes, 27 jacks it is!

    It may be worth looking at an alternative freight type too. If no-one is in a rush, then sea freight may work out 50%+ cheaper, just you'd have to wait a month.
