Hi Gordon, will this make it easier with kit 1 to permanently fit if you have a long range fuel tank fitted? Or would kit 2 be better in that case?

The new (large) kit is easier to fit in the sense that you don't have to try and correctly cut the lines in a very cramped setting. Running the lines to the rear of the car takes a little longer with a long-range tank fitted, but it's not particularly hard.
Cheers,

Does anyone have these installed?
I've been stuck on the bump stops twice now, not fun at all but thankfully I made it out instead of being stuck 6 kms down a long sandy beach. I can't imagine how you would go getting 2.5 tons off the beach if that happened so naturally I don't want this happening a third time.
Is the GOE version the only option or are their competitors I should review as well? How easy or hard was the install? I note the original versions leaked, is this still a factor? all the good and bad please.
I fitted the full kit 5 years ago now, I have never used it for it's intended purpose.
I would also just buy the small kit and keep it with me next time.
The main problem with the small kit is that it has to be fitted after you have an issue - usually in some remote location - if something goes wrong there is unlikely to be help nearby. And with me something normally something does go wrong - that is why even when I do an oil change in the driveway I have another vehicle to take me to to the spare parts shop if I need parts.

Thanks Gents.
Rich you must have the old kit which involves cutting the lines? Have you had any leaks?
ive done a lot of searches on here and very little if any post from people with the newer version of the full kit. Curious to know how easy or hard the install is to the average jo and whether they have had any issues.
i may never use it now that my compressor has been replaced but I would be much happier to have the kit installed than having to do it in difficult situations.
I installed the kit prior to my geographic center of the Simpson trip in 2012. And yes I did have a leak on the front left that started mid trip. It was only very small at first but eventually got faster nessitating a desert repair to replace a joiner. Of course you know where the joiners are but it still takes a while to remove the inner guard, replace and refit everything.
It’s not hard to install, just a bit scary! Cutting your cars airlines!
Was not aware of the new kit that does not require the airlines to be cut , would be interested in that kit myself if any info can be gleaned .
