That's what happens in VERY boggy soft sand without a CDL...
Oh ok, we've owned them **** loads longer than that, not to mention all the Land Rover dealer training courses dad went to... so not like I don't know my way around them, we have 2 right now.
And have a D4, but it just hauls the toys... by rough stuff I mean, when you don't have a nanocom, LLAMS, GOE wheels, manual CDL etc, the type of situations that electrickery can't handle... Mind you who would point an 80k motor car at that stuff.

smoking the d2 brakes in soft sand would be caused only by overdoing it, back off, let some air out and use the shovel. :p
smoking clutch on a d2 would be caused by the sand bowl at stockton. :D
Dont know whay d2 you have been driving on sand but it must have been broken....in all the years I have been driving and towing in sand .my d2 has never been other than a tractor. From new mine was sans cdl. With cdl its better in sand but smoking brakes?? Smoking something stronger I think. ..
