    Anyone got any photos.
Yeah, I did Chuck. Before I purchased Gordons 18" rims.
Found them great on road and quiet. Quite good off road.....better than the tread suggest.
    Here's a pic.......

    Pirelli Scorpion on 19"

I am now on my third set of Pirelli Scorpion 255/55-19. I had 2 sets on my FFRR TDV8 (got about 60k out of the first set before they started to get quite noisy somewhat like a wheel bearing) due to the tread thinning. I am sure I would have got at least 75k out of them if I could stand the increase in noise. Sold the car with a replacement set. I am now driving a D4 SDV6 and had the dealer fit the Pirelli's to that car they are a very good on-road tyre (far better than Cooper ATR in the wet), I have used them off-road without issue including sand driving on the beach in Robe, they were very good in that environment. Have ordered GOE 18" for the D4 and after lots of research will go with D697's as we plan to do more off-road work. Good luck with your choice, if you are mainly using the car on-road the Pirelli's are the pick in my opinion, if however you are using it more off-road I would suggest the D697's.I have attached a couple of photo's for your information.

It is an Opposite Lock Bar which I had colour coded to the car, I have fitted a Warn 10k Winch and Lightforce 170 Striker Lights. The bar includes the Fog-lamps and has 4 LED running lights standard, my D4 is an HSE and I have no problems with the Park Sensors with the bar fitted.

Fitted by OL in Dandenong. The Bar is very good, the fitting was about 80% and I had to take it back, primarily for the passenger side wheel liner. They hadn't finished that very well (essentially problems with the washer reservoir which I suspected would be an issue). Second time around they fashioned a bracket to mount he liner and all is good.

They have done a few D4's and they stated the main issue had been the gap between the bar and the flair, I found it acceptable and they added some additional trim which was good. They stated that previous owners had experienced the bar and flair contacting each other when off road because of body movement as apposed to chassis movement with a small gap (seemed to make sense to me) and the flair had been damaged.

I have a photo of the final finish on my photo library.

    Regards

    Hey Mate,

I've have Scorpions fitted to my car for a few years now.

Overall great and as reported much better off-road than their look would suggest.

However, I had a scary aquaplane incident with them and a few others on this site have had the same. I'm still running them but would be less inclined to let them wear too far.

It may have just been bad circumstances. Worth asking a few more questions.

I had been paying close to $500 for them (lots of dealers) but found a place in Brisbane that sells them for less than $300 fitted.

    Cheers,

    Kev.

    A WA Purchase Experience

So Pirellis' 255/55/19 ATR's it is!

Now that decision has been made, where to purchase same. Much phoning around and the best I could get in Perth was $500+ per tyre. Given that I wanted 6 (including one for my second spare) I was up for $3k.

Ouch! Hold up the local TAB maybe???

Let's check out the web instead. So into the ether I dive and find the tyres that I am looking for are on special with a Sydney based 'On Line' firm. What's more they provide freight free transport to Perth or anywhere else in Australia according to their add. That fact along with the price of $200.00 less per tyre certainly got my focus.

There I sat thinking if its too good to be true, then it probably isn't true.

So I ring the local tyre firms that they list as agents and ask a few questions and get all the right response's. Still I am not convinced maybe the tyres are grey imports or Chinese knock offs?

Oh well nothing ventured nothing gained so I order the tyres.

They were fitted yesterday by a reputable tyre retailer in Perth that acts as a local agent for the Sydney based firm.

All up the cost, including fitting, balance and fee for tyre disposal was just on $2k a substantial $1k difference, which, from my perspective is better in my pocket than someone else's.

Call me a skeptical person but I still have a slight nagging feeling. This is despite my checks that show (as far as possible) that I wasn't being had.

I guess the proof of that will be 50,000+ kms down the track.

Anyhow the 400km trip home was a pleasurable drive with good road holding and little to no road noise.

    LGM,

Just WA fleecing and gouging....our fellow west Aussies fleece Aussies at a slightly higher rate than the east in most respects.

My tyres $360 each fitted...next best price was $480, and up from there.

My sister is in the tyre game in the east....and I know their mark up. My tyres cost my guy $250 each.

WA will keep charging higher, if the consumer continues to pay it.

I work with businesses, I am in business, and my uncle is known across Australia and the world with business coaching and marketing....I know how they can do it without fleecing, and make more.

I would let those that quoted you know that they missed out, and for this reason.

    Brett...
