Should be a great road trip:cool::cool:
It's like waiting for Christmas morning when you where a little kid isn't it?
you're going to love it!
Still at the airport...:banghead:
Today of all days, the plane breaks...
Sent from my GT-I9100T using AULRO mobile app
She is big, black & beautiful.... :D
After jumping in at the dealers, and putting around 900 kms on it yesterday, I love it.
Still getting used to all the trickery, and menus, but thats why they have buttons... to push.. :D
Having driven the Melb to Adl road a fair few times, I know there are some patches that could be called, less than smooth. I was impressed with the way the car dealt with these bits. You knew they were there, but it didn't unsettle the car in any way.
SWMBO rang & asked how it was driving. I told her, it was very similar to her XR6. You feel like you are driving a family sized car, NOT a big 4wd. Until you go to get out, and fall off the seat...
So, the good bits:
smooth
quiet
powerful, but not jumpy
imposing
beautiful
Harmon Kardon sound system... oh, those sweet, sweet tunes...
And some not so good bits:
That "spot" on the centre rear-vision mirror. Yes, I know it is a sensor, but that doesn't stop me wanting to wipe it off constantly...
What's with the little light under the mirror? I mean, the gear knob (is that what it is still called??) has lights to tell you what mode you are in, so why light it up? Hmmmm...
Now that SWMBO has driven it, I think my driving privileges are about to be revoked.
Oh, and Giskard, when I rang the insurance mob (RAA) for a quote, they had to double check, as it came up as being valued at a tad over $86,000. I did get a good deal, and lets just say, it was closer to the $80k mark... ;)
If you are thinking about it, I have NO hesitation in recommending Melbourne Land Rover. Speak to Penny there, and tell her I sent you. Sniegy on here is the Pre-delivery manager, and helped me along the way. ;)
There will no doubt be more updates & questions as we go, but right now.....
I am going for a drive :D :D :D

Nice:cool:
Very nice. After 2 years of ownership, I still look back at the D4 once I've parked it and smile. Hence the term "permagrin". Enjoy.
