I use an IIDTool to change ride height when going off road, so I have the in-cabin "off road" setting still when I need it. It is simple enough to use but surely it is never going to beat LLAMS for ease of use. If you go off road frequently then I believe LLAMS is the way to go.
IIDTool changes the default car height settings so if you add 50mm to standard ride height you are effectively in Off Road height, yet the car doesn't know any better than it is at standard ride height. That ride height stays until you change it again so as long as you can clear ABS fault codes you should be able to get back up to what the car believes is standard height.
