HI Wezz
I hope yours continue to work. Apparently in the rain they give false alarms so to speak.. MY installer could not get them to work, although I wonder how hard they tried.
Cheers

Hi Tony, had it for about 8 months now, whilst it doesn't rain as much here in Sydney as Melbourne it has had it fair share of water. I spent new years at Fraser island and the entire front and bar spent time under water with some of the creek crossings etc. my bar was fitted by an ARB company store, not sure if this means anything however as said no problems. Cheers.
Update for ARB bar owners. ARB is in the process of redesigning the front bar sensor mounts to address the issue. They expect to commence testing a prototype within a few weeks.
This was my comment last December!
"I have a D4 HSE and an ARB bar has been on the vehicle for the last two years.
The parking sensors have worked since day one of the installation albeit not without the odd problem. There has been times when there was an intermittent problem with the sensors giving a false alarm.
My local LR dealer was able to fix that issue for a price.
I don't know if there has been any modification to the sensor mounting on the latest ARB bars but it seems to me that the mount for the sensors is not sufficiently robust and any movement of the sensors can lead to problems.
"
Me and my big mouth!:o
And here is my last post on the subject from another recent thread:
Not sure if this will help but my D4 HSE is fitted with an ARB bar and the park sensors fitted in the front worked fine when fitted in the bar for about two years. This is despite the poor fitting arrangement on the ARB bar. About a month ago they went 'bananas' and nothing my service agent could do would fix them.
In the end I gave up and had the front sensors disabled! Peace in our time
Prior to that final straw being reached the sensors could be partially rotated or moved in and out slightly and these movements would affect their sensitivity. The problem is then maintaining them in the best position. Once they move the problem starts all over again!
I figure having the front sensors disabled is not much of a drama as generally that is the direction I am looking in!
I hope the ARB fix, if it eventuates, is able to be retro fitted to all the bars they have sold to date for D4's
LGM
Sorry to hear your front sensors stopped working, I had mine disabled at the time of installation.
Not sure how they could retro fit any fix. Should have been right the first time.
However like you I have learn't to live without them.
Cheers

Does this mean you can get sensors fitted post factory option by your local dealer?
Also has anyone considered the alloy LR genuine one? If not, why? I'm in the market at the moment and have been put off of my original choice of ARB thanks to this bad boy under my bonnet:
Attachment 73670
Thanks, does the same apply for adding aftermarket cameras? I purchased the rear as a factory option but am now wishing I had gotten a couple more.
So you recommend any brands?
All,
I fitted my ARB deluxe bar to HSE with the lot. 28,000km later Cape York OT, all sensors and cameras still positioned and working fine.
My business partner had his bar fitted by an ARB outlet, and to be honest there work is below average in routing cable, cable splicing, fittings, cameras and sensors.
When fitting parking sensors, you MUST use the soft rubber inserts and purchase 2 from LR to fit around the sensors, as the original figment only allows you to recover 2.
Regards
Gerald
Don't know for sure about the cameras I'm afraid. I would assume that it is possible, I'll have a look at the parts listings to see what is possible.
For the front sensors, the OEM (they're made by Valeo from what I remember) sensor itself is used in a number of other cars, including some Fords. I picked up a set of 4 on eBay UK for about £50 including shipping.
