Also has anyone considered the alloy LR genuine one? If not, why? I'm in the market at the moment and have been put off of my original choice of ARB thanks to this bad boy under my bonnet:

The general consensus on the genuine one is that it is not only very blingy & ugly, but sits too close to the body, meaning it will cause damage, should anything of substance hit the bar.

There is another thread on them in this section, at the moment.

And, as for the sticker, not sure why LR put that on there. But, don't be put off by it. All bar's on the market for the D4 have to meet the ADR's, so you know they have been tested to work with air bags and SRS.

For the front sensors, the OEM (they're made by Valeo from what I remember) sensor itself is used in a number of other cars, including some Fords. I picked up a set of 4 on eBay UK for about £50 including shipping.
A dealer quoted me $110 each not fitted

I've got an ECB bar and they specifically state on their web site that it is compliant.

"Compliant" with Australian road laws but not your LR warranty I'm assuming.

I assume that sticker is there only on vehicles sold post-LR bar becoming available. Sounds like a sales tool more than a real warning.

To deny a warranty claim, LR would have to prove the the fitment of an after-market bar caused the issue.

This would be a bit hard to do, if they are offering a bar themselves.

If in doubt, ring your dealer, then ring ARB / TJM / ECB and ask if their bars are compliant, and if they are aware of any warranty issues.

    Brad,

My 2011 D4 has a similar sticker as well. The wording is from memory slightly different but in the same theme.

Yes, compliant with ADRs. Hope not to have to test LR warranty on the issue but would certainly put up a fight if they declined a warranty claim because of an aftermarket bar being installed.

    ARB bar & front sensors

In case anyone is interested in fitting after-market front sensors to a steel ARB Bull Bar:
This company - Australia's Leading Supplier of Quality Car accessories and Life Saving Devices * - supplied and fitted front sensors to my D3 and they work like a charm! They even come to your place and fit them. I am told they are the only company that uses rubber coated sensors imported from Germany. Cost $450 all-up, with 5 year warranty on parts and lifetime warranty on labour. Works for me!

    ARB bullbar and tyre rub.

    Hi,
I was leaning toward getting the ARB deluxe bar, as the OL dealer has packed up shop in my town. How bad is the tyre rub on the ARB bar? As I am currently running 275/65R18s and a GOE 2 inch lift rods.

    Thanks,
    Nick.
