Only the small ones, 3 foot or less may go under, if they aren't jumping at the time of impact. I went close to hitting one once in a RRC but the thing actualy cleared the roof on the jump. That should give you some idea of their potential for size.

There are some big gaps in the genuine bar and it seems he made it through some of them. From what I have read I think I am lucky I didn't get the tail whipping around hitting the bonnet or side guards.
I have been looking at my options to get a new stronger bar ARB or Opposite lock. I'm surprised that it seems our American and Canadian friends get better pricing on ARB bars that us in the country they are made in.
Not quite true, Australia and New Zealand get the Australian built ARB bar, the rest of the world gets the ARB made in Thailand;)
I hit a big male Emu at about 80kph, only damage was a bent number plate, my D4 is fitted with an Opposite Lock bar, yes that is blood splattered over the bar.

Baz.
I am favouring the opposite lock bar as the pick of the bunch funny though when I rang my local opposite lock store they tried to sell me the Arb one. ?
Are you happy with the performance of your bar did you diy fitting?
Yep, only difference from my ARB bar on the D2 was the trim and finish is better on the OL bar and the Antenna mounts are in a better position.
Only DIY is I fitted some mesh in front of the headlights to protect them.

12-15K for (mainly) reinstating the airbags?
You can buy a new small car with six airbags for that.
Another example of costs not adding up, there can't be that much difference between the airbags...
Still, a good outcome. My wife wrote a Falcon off on the freeway a few years back (aquaplanning, and Ford didn't fit any form of traction/ stability control). The airbags deployed and she walked without a scratch. Changed my mind about airbags, the next car we bought had to have them.
Kangaroos?.....There's certainly some big boys around aren't there?
Friend of ours live on 6 acres in the Adelaide Hills, & they get a few Roos lounging around on their front lawn. MY friend was out the front the other day, & the biggest one, over 6', came bounding towards him.....my friend made a hasty retreat.
I've seen this big boy myself, he has absolutely no fear of humans.
Pickles.
