Thanks for that, but according to their web site the bar for a D3 is NOT winch compatible.

Any reason why a D4 bar wouldn't fit on a D3?

Different shape for grill and lights as a starter..

I havent seen an alloy bar on a Disco 3/4 that has hit a decent animal, but if you want it for protection and winching ARB or OL are the best choices..

I called into ARB today , they advised against fitting their bar your self " Modern cars have so many bits that need coaxing to make it fit , usually takes 5-6 hours " has any one fitted a ARB bar ?

The grille is a different shape, the lights are 25mm shorter in height, the guards finish 15mm further back.

However overall the the line of the bottom of the grille is the same as on the D3 (all bar a few mm) and on the ripple black ECB bar I have (the other styles may be different), the difference in height between the headlamp and the grille is blanked off with a metal panel that bolts on:

Other than that, I've had it bolted on and it seems to line up OK.

As for the difference in strength between alloy and steel bars, the skippys around this neck of the woods are not monsters, and my view is that the alloy bar, especially given all the mounts are 10mm+ steel, should hold the locals off the important bits more than adequately.

Took my 4 casual hours, solo.
If you have a helper (occasionally) and are mildly technical/logical and can handle a few tools you'll be fine.

That is hideous, good buy bar would have to go. Ridiculous. God damn that's ugly :D

It is little wonder authorities are on the bull bar case with bars like that - definitely not compliant.

And I thought only ARB and OL made them for D3!

(I still think that!)
