    I'd be happy with mediocre

Other options are a larger intercooler and new exhaust(old one is crushed in places)

Baz I put a post on the other thread to do with power upgrades that taipan exhaust is looking for a donor vehicle to put a system in and give a discount to not sure if they're doing a 2.7 as well but might Dave you some money

There four different engine/ecu configs in the D4
D4 2.7 original (not Bosch engine management)
    D4 2.7 Bosch engine management
D4 3.0L de-tuned engine (different injectors to Hi power) Bosch engine management
D4 3.0L Hi power engine Bosch engine management

I know there have been issues with 2.7 with Bosch engine management. This is most likely due to a small number having both 2.7 and changing over to new system.
I know of success with non Bosch 2.7.
Do we have any definitive results from the other engine configs?
Which supplier, which engine, what sort of tune, what result?

Had a look at their site, being in QLD, it's a bit far away, they are still looking for a vehicle for R&D.

I think there is a muffler place near us that was recommended by my Mechanic, I'll see what they say, the biggest obstacle is the cross flow pipe just behind the engine, very hard to get to apparently.

Bigger intercooler is easy, Allisport do two for the D3/4.

Is expect nothing but more noise with an exhaust change. Engineers have been on top of exhaust restrictions for a long time now.

Yeah not interested in anything that is any noisier than what is standard, I changed my D2 TD5 exhaust because it was noisy, actually added a free flow style muffler to the straight through thing(removed centre muffler) I had in there and it actually helped with response and made it so much quieter.

May just get them to repair/replace what it crushed/bent.

My mate is doing a cross pipe on a 4,5 cruiser Ute at the moment $600 By itself and its supposed to be a pain in rear. Especially for us considering they built the fire wall around the engine. Another friend made his own exhaust for a 100 series straight through from turbo and you would be surprised how much noise the turbo kills. Especially compared to his 2.8 hilux non turbo he did the same to.the 100 just has a slight whirl sound. Not saying yours will be the same but hope so.
