It would need to be fuelled and fully detailed (again) with a slab in the back upon return.........

When we were away for 6 weeks recently I disconnected the main battery and the link on the traxide for the second battery and on our return the Disco started immediately. the only side effect was the trip meter and fuel economy readings reset. My disco does have a slow leak in the rear valve block though and this wakes the computer up to self level which is an additional drain on the battery.
The fuel tank was also filled.

Thanks all for the replies.
I had heard some stories about batteries going dead and or disconnecting casuing issues with computers etc. Obviously with the electronics on these things these days there is alot more at play.
I will fill her up, put her on a trickle charger and access height.
Cheers
Provided I was insured by your company (as in they accept a driver apart from you (44yo)) I'd take you up on that, seriously.
Edit: after looking at the pics, I'd DEFINITELY take you up on that, it's exactly what I'm hoping to buy and I need to "convince" SWMBO...
Edited Edit: oh well, was worth a try...![]()

Depending on how far you from the airport, ...........
A mate parks it in long term airport storage it, it gets detailed, fueled, pampered and waiting when he gets back. He's normally away several months at the time, so it must be reasonably priced.
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
