The LCT is going to get worse.
From 1/7/14 the LCT is on the RRP of the car not the price paid.
Unless Landrover lower the RRP to more closely reflect the average sales prices this will add nearly $5000.00 to a SDV6 D4.

When speaking to the dealer a month or so ago I told him I didn't want anything fitted to the vehicle that couldn't be added later. His reply was that in his experience fitting the accessories after purchase (at the first service for example) would work out dearer than fitting them at time of purchase due to fitting costs etc.
Do dealers allow for the fitting of accessories in their dealer delivery charges?
Anyone got any experience with this? Is he right?
To an extent, that would depend on what options/accessories you're talking about. If, say you wanted the e diff, that can't be done after it's built & Im not sure whether ARB still offer the air locker for the Discovery anymore.Quote:

E-diff option is a lot cheaper than a ARB locker.
Accessories was talking to the sales guy about were mats, roof rails, RAI, the front windows tinted etc. Dealer fitted options.
No ARB don't do a diff lock for the discover 4 any longer. Last I asked they don't do a bar either if you have surround cameras.

ARB definitely do a bar as do Opposite Lock. I am pretty sure ARB have been working on a diff lock but not sure on the status be will definitely be more expensive than the LR option.

I was in a similar boat to you – looking for a 2nd D4 with an Ediff. I was looking for a 2.7 with Ediff, sat nav and rear air con, but gave up after 9 months. I then started looking for an HSE with an Ediff. They seemed to be more common, so after a couple of months I found one for a good price.
I learnt from somebody else’s post here on aulro, that if you register for access onto the LR TOPIx website, you can find the build specs of any vehicle if you know the VIN.
So every second day I would look at any new online ads for disco 4s and if they were an HSE, I would then enter the VIN that was stated on the ad into the TOPIx website and it would tell me all the factory options that it had been built with. It was a bit paintaking, but worth it if you a keen to get a 2nd hand vehicle with exactly what you want on it.
The lady I bought my D4 HSE from, had no idea her vehicle had an Ediff!
I would recommend however, that you visually confirm it has an Ediff before buying it.
