My mistake, mine does have SE on the rear, I haven't seen it for 3 weeks, just got it back from the body shop today, it's been greatly missed :D
No volumes controls in mine either. I must have been having a bad morning when I replied before because it should have read "without sat nav"! It might be that you have an S model with a few options, although I'm not sure if you could get a V8 S?
Rear parking sensors have been known to malfunction due to a wiring loom problem, one also do it intermittently, although I find that waiting a second between engaging reverse and actually moving improves their response rate. The fix is a new loom and/ or sensors - have a look over on disco3.co.uk for the problem.

If you cannot get into settings by pressing the little i button on the end of the indicator stalk then the system has a fault.
Using the i button can you scroll between trip, range, av fuel use, av speed, current time and "settings".
The settings screen will say i exit on the left and enter >>! !<< on the right. The >>! !<< are the forward and back radio controls on the steering wheel.
Using these >>! !<< buttons you can scroll between each page in the menu.
1. Trip distance - km or miles
2. Fuel Usage - mpg or l/100km
3. Outside temp - c or F
4. Overspeed alarm - set speed
5. Head lamp delay - secs
6. Auto door lock - on or off
7. Rear Mirror dip on reverse - on or off
8. Reset to default
To make changes when any of the above menus then you use the radio volume controls - +/- to make the changes.
Before you go trying to make changes using an OBD2 system you need to get the settings system to work first. If it doesn't work try a hard reset on the computer system (remove battery leads and when removed touch together) - the system will reboot itself and this may fix it - maybe not as well.
Cheers

I have a 05 TDV6 with the same issue in that I can't access the settings and have a combination of imperial and metric. Temp in C. Ltrs/100 km but the rest in miles:mad: It was all in metric until the battery went flat and I jump started it.
Had it in at the dealer for a warranty job on the brake booster recall. While they had it I asked them to fix this. They said they tried everything they knew and couldn't do anything. Said they spent a bit of time on it (didn't charge me for it) but couldn't fix it. Not sure what to do now. In for service at Rover Tech soon so will ask there. Will post if I find a fix. It a bit annoying.

If you don't have stereo controls on your steering wheel you won't be able to change those particular settings.
My D3 S model didn't come with them and I had the same problems. But after I fitted steering wheel controls I was able to program the changes easily.

I was told by my mechanic couple weeks ago, who also took it to another landrover specialist in Perth.. Hooked it up to a diagnostic reader/computer and after some fiddling around and setting the km on the system - it revered back to miles.
Apparently there's an issue on some of the systems and no amount of mucking around will keep it on km.. Will always revert back to miles. Only resolution is to change the dash computer... which incidentally is around $2k.
I can live with miles showing and spend the $2k somewhere else :)
