Hey Dan, The RRS is a lot older than the D4 so the terrain response is much better. Not sure if the RRS has an e-diff or not(don't think it does) but the D4 does so that helps in some situations. Longer wheel base of the D4 also helps with larger steps too but ramp over angle on the RRS will be better.
Jamie's RRS has been through the wars. He has really pushed it hard so not everything is ship shape - he has had some traction control issues which stuffs him up some times.
Cheers,
Sean

Heres a vid of my D3 last weekend. If you listen carefully you can hear the compressor fire up as it goes into extended mode after it bottoms out.
It was so slow, the young(er) fellas who had bashed their lifted utes through walked off half way through. None of them thought I'd make it through

FINN - '72 88" S3 - 2.286 petrol - yet to go on it's first adventure
SOLD - '08 D3 4.0 V6 - 265/65/R17 on X5 rims
GONE '96 D1 300Tdi - 2" lift, 32" tyres, HD rear axles, lockers :(
I went out a couple of weekends ago to my usual spot and tried a hill I thought I'd never attempt:
Be warned - it is VERY slow. It took me 13 minutes to get up a small hill But there are three things to take away from this:
- I made it
- I didn't damage anything
- I made it
There's also a shorter vid of another challenging section afterwards.
It's also interesting to see how much the track has changed in the last 5 months since I first drove out there (see my video in the previous post).
Cheers
Dan
Edit: ignore the incomplete plate blurring - its still to be completed before i post it to FB

Just stumbled upon the best example of what a D3/D4 can do in mud with decent muddies yet.
Those 17" wheels make it look tough

Couple of videos from day trips to the Glasshouse powerlines track with two friends also in D4s.
One is edited to footage of just me, otherwise they get very long.
Very good place to improve skills.
