A petrol 100 series travelling with us had an extra tank and 5 jerry cans on the roof For water we took a 50 litre tank across the rear floor for cooking and numerous bottled water packs stuffed in all the spare spots for drinking. Good water was available at Dalhousie.

Edit, I see you are taking Jerries, ignore my question

Tote, youre right - 3 x jerries on the roof plus a full tank should get me into Mt Dare with a spare jerry full. We are only doing the French line (so we don't spill too much Chardonay) so the calculations should be right. We are also taking 120 litres of water inside the cab in Jerries and that should be ample for just 2 people. I'm a "Jerry Can" man - the Army made me fond of them

On my East / West Birdsville - French line - The Knolls - Rig Rd east - WAA line mid - French line - Dalhousie - Mt Dare and only had to transfer some fuel across to get me to Mt Dare after Dalhousie so main tank plus 20ltrs should be fine. ( Still need to take spare though)

I'd like to get out there and have marked when you expect to be in Birdsville in my diary and am lining up a few ducks that need despatching beforehand in case. I'll let you know closer to the time if it looks as though I can join your group.

    Matt, love your work!

I'll be interested to see how the Qubelock system holds up.

Maybe I missed it in your picks but do you have a cargo barrier?

    Cheers,

    Mark

A good idea is to use a 4.5mm pop rivet in each corner, the hole drilled through the aluminium and plastic. It stops the corner from coming apart.
