It just goes to show how it would be awesome if you could get some after market custom transfers, such as a shopping trolley, a handbag, a man on a polo pony, a bunch of grapes, a kangaroo etc

Interestingly enough when i wanted my driving lights switch put in the centre console (with a proper RRS switch where there was a blanking plate), thought
hey just buy a switch from LR.. not that simple, you have to buy the whole control unit so put it under the fog light switches and out of sight. assume the same
problem on the D4 as they are fundamentally the same switch gear. Everything is unit based rather than individually switched, so assume the same for the terrain
response.. but would be good to have some graphics of outrageous modes..

how about auto terrain, the new Sport has the function where you can set it to work it out for itself and you just point it in the direction you want, no more straining for the terrain control button

So glad the MY14 doesn't have it.

Wife's car has it and I'm always turning it off, there should be a permanent override for that function.

About the off centre, used it on the weekend and didn't pick it up well done Nat. I did get quickly annoyed with reaching forward many times to play with modes, I much preferred the dial on the rangie.

I wonder if there's a voice command for it to avoid the stretch? Must check that when I get time...

I second this theory, that the far left position could have been for a "sports" setting.

Yeah it kinda does get annoying when i was test driving a golf for my partner it had it and yeah your trying to test drive and its shutting down and i did something and it wouldn't start at the lights, had to put it in park and turn on and off probably my fault messing around but turned it off after that haha.

Surely they could have something in the voice command but i don't think there is anything there, i never used the voice command a bit of a pain. Hopefully next model will have an auto setting as someone said that will stop your stretch!! haha

I haven't caught-up with the latest models but my old MY10 D4 has that very same setting and it gets used all the time!
