The D4 won because the D4D de-rated as soon as the torque exceeded the gearbox limit. Pat

Very similar figures to the V8 TTD Q7 Audi engine not much difference at all in power and torque figures if i remember correctly

And a bigger fuel tank than the D4.

Off road, absolutely no hope,no comparison at all to a Disco.
Im pretty sure they have a 5 suspension settings with the air suspension and I'm not sure how high it goes although its not to far off the D4 for clearance. I believe they have about 100L of fuel which i would love the D4s to get.

I know a friend with a Q7 who took it down on the beach for some fun and was quite surprised by it although i think he had the 18" rims with Goodyear Wranglers on it although i think that would be about as good as it gets they are no where near a D4 off road and i dont really think they market that way!! But that V8 TTD is a stinking great engine!!

    Yep,forgot about that,it can fit 18" genuine rims,not like the D4.

No where near the room in it compared with a D4 either.

Yes the off road height is pretty high, but i haven't compared it to the D4

That V8 is excellent on fuel as well.

It would be interesting to see how a reprogrammed 3.0 D4 goes against a standard V8 D4? ...

My money is on the V8. ...

You should drive the SQ5. Its significantly quicker with the 3.0 twin turbo V6 diesel. Its a great vehicle!

I shall have a drive very soon as my mate who has a Q7 is trading it in on an SQ5 in the new few weeks so I'll have a burn. Although I know there super fast I can only guess it will be a bit rough!! As he has a Q7 and a Q5 on 20s and its rough so the SQ5 with sports suspension might be rugged!!

Nah I seriously looked into a Q7 before the D4 and the room inside is just cheap there is hardly any room in the front for storage and in the rear its so low even in the back seats you can't sit up like it would be kids only!!

Both Diesel engines are great on fuel Audi do make a good diesel!!
