    D4 Spare Wheel Carrier

    Greetings all from a regular reader but first time subscriber, so please be gentle with me. I am also somewhat of a ludite with this sort of stuff so hopefully this all makes sense.
    As I have read from many of you the 80ltr fuel tank in the D4 is not much good if towing a 2.5 ton van over long distances. After reading many of your post I have installed a Brown Davis (Bayswater Victoria) 110 ltr aux unit. At the same time Brown Davis fabricated a spare wheel carrier (bracket) for the luggage compartment. I find it absolutely brilliant and thought others may also find it of interest

    Great idea. Looks similar to the mine spec vehicles that mount their second spare in a similar way.

    I wonder whether another option would be to remove the third row seats and place the wheel lying flat in there, and fabricate a raised floor as required?

    I guess you could Chris but this still gives access to one of the third row seats and leaves some storage space in the back of the wheel.

    Welcome to the forum, from someone a couple of suburbs away.

    The carrier is not my cup of tea personally, but it's good to see that there's another option available for mounting the spare.

    RRC style except on the other side where it doesn't interfere with the view when parking.
