If you need an alternative... But if MLR is like our local dealer here, not only will that not be the problem, but you will be charged for it while they replace every part under your bonnet until they accidentally replace the faulty part.
Cascade faults are very common on these cars, usually something has shorted out ie brake light switch, or a low voltage issue like battery or alternator or battery terminal loose.
Definitely make sure the pump recall has been done too. keep us posted!
I am with Rich on this - repair these days seems to be repair by replacement until the thing is fixed and charge the owner all the way.
I would be getting a second opinion though I appreciate is often easier said than done.

I recently received similar cascading error messages to the OP and the car lowered to bump stops. Also had cruise control not always working properly. I had the car in at the dealer for something else and asked them to check the brake light switch. They said it was fine and they could not find any issues. It then happened again so I replaced the brake light switch myself and seems to have solved the issue completely. The switch cost me $35 from Rovacraft.
There is no external way to check the brake light switch that I know of so I change mine every three years or when oddities happen. Changed one last week that looked like this: Attachment 86953
I am so distrustful of the part that I always carry a spare in the vehicle and a few spare bulbs.
I decided to check up on engine faults and have come across so many that sound the same.
About 6-8 weeks ago, had the car serviced at my dealer. Then about 6 weeks i started getting an engine fault, limited gears, HDC fault, Park brake fault, transmission fault etc.
Pull over, turn off ignition, wait 10-20 seconds, start it up again. Goes fine.
So after this happened once every few days, then several in one day, took to dealer. Battery was cactus (this i knew about) plus it had leaked onto transmission module? They replaced both. All tested ok. Drove next day same thing happens again.
Took back to dealer, they have it for 3-4 days. Find a engine oil temp sensor faulty, replace it. Next morning ****s itself again. But since then has been ok for 3 days now.
Early on it only did this going around a corner, roundabout or over a speed hump, indicating to me something electrical is loose.
Any ideas? I'm not taking it back to have more diagnosis, pay more yet not solve the issue.
Seems to me that many here are experiencing similar things. Vehicle has done 160K, always serviced on schedule and at same dealer. Never had an issue before like this. One thing, could the aux battery cause an issue? I have a Traxide with D3 yellow top. Been installed for 2 years.
Cheers,
Neil.
With those symptoms, Neil, I would lay money on the brake light switch. It is exactly what happened to my D4 and then it finally failed completely and had to be towed.
When it plays up the computers think the brakes are on and hence won't let you accelerate, amongst other things. You can drive fine until you brake, often at a corner, and then the switch will play up and the car will go crazy, until it turns off and you can drive normally for a while until a brake application sets it off again.

Is there a post or thread anywhere that goes through location of brake light switch and replacement with photos? I did a search but couldn't find one.
Have a look a BBYER's post here:
