Towing the Jayco Dove was 12.3 at 100 - 110 km/h. Much better than my old 2007 d4D Prado. More power and less fuel. Does anyone have a preference to fuel company's for Diesel?

A question for you, Simple. How many litres do you buy when you say you have done 640km on a tank? If it is around 80l then you are getting 12.5l/100km but if, like me, you put in around 65l when the car is saying it is low on fuel, you are getting close to 10l/100km real word.

    How far can I go

Nat_89, I reckon that little bit extra in the tank would be great but then got to thinking that at my age the car can already go further than I can without a stop! So what does it really matter, unless your in a location devoid of servo's but then I guess you would have made allowances for that fact would you not?

Oh and BobD has made me feel a little less like the odd man out re the fuel consumption actually achieved. The others are right re variations and driving style. I usually have the cruise control running the show for me and keep to the speed limits (basically lazy and cop shy) although I must admit that I don't 'spare the horses' when overtaking.

Ahhh....so that one's yours? I've been a bit jealous seeing that one. Mine's the other Aussie one listed in that group with an average of 14.3 L/100 at the moment (albeit with front bar, carrier, tank, family and about 40% of kms towing 2 tonne, and the rest short local trips) - 18.3 for the last 10 which were all towing

Hi SD yes you've been cheering me up but you don't count because you tow. I do have a bar though which would affect aerodynamics. If I recall a lot of the advantage in economy of the D4 over the D3 was in the bumper area. All been ripped out when I put the bar on

Hi Andrew. Interesting, your figures make sense if the assumption that I do more urban driving than you do is true. How is the discrepancy between computer and actual use going? It would appear from comments by those in MY14 vehicles that they have improved the calculations. I wish they could make the changes to earlier models; mine is consistently over 1.4 l/100km out.

Over 5000km most of the fills have been spot on with the computer.
Interesting to see the computer jump on the tank that the bullbar was fitted,3/4 used and its shown around 10 the whole time.
Havent seen my middle 8s and low 9s.
Except for 1 misdeameanor with the loud pedal the driving style is exactly the same.
The other issue may be fuel quality,I bet its the bar
