ADR's say, no global closing. Hence, the document is wrong, the dealer is right.

Yes, if someone has access to a device to change specific parts of the CCF, then they MAY be able to change it. That wont be the dealer thou.

The way it was explained to me, was that the dealers CCF is downloaded as a whole, and they are unable to just pick & choose which parts they want - to a large extent.
Written in the UK yet has the Australian spec on it and also the Australian options costs etc?

I am guessing that the car would have needed a new computer, programmed from the factory with the correct VIN.

NO,it was mentioned it effected the plethora of ECUs in the vehicle and the only fix was to send the vehicle back to the factory to fix.An insurance claim was mentioned.

Was also mentioned Faultmate could unlock options that were built into the vehicle that were included when built but not able to be unlocked by the dealer unless it was factory ordered.Off-Road GPS was one that comes to mind,if you have factory GPS

You can enable it using 3rd party diagnostic gear like Redback said using a Faultmate or Nanocom and editing the CCF.
When did that ADR come into effect do you know?

As far as I was made aware it's been in for well over a decade...

Exemptions can be made for vehicles as always, but as its configurable they can remove it.

My 2008 Touareg also has Global opening and closing.

My next car, which is a choice between two, both have Global opening and closing.....one of the first things I asked about.

I guess someone forgot to tell the ADR people lol.

Brett, you disco has it because it never received the later firmware or it would be gone.

As I stated, ADRs are often exempted For certain things on certain vehicles. Perhaps the models you're looking at have the exemption.

Like wheel spacers, or rims wider than 8"...
