D4 Window Tint

I've had 3M Crystalline CR40 on my D4 for 6 months now and am very happy with it. Stops the kids melting and doesn't block their view, nor mess with my mirrors when reversing.

Certainly noticed the heat reduction, and the non-metallic lets me leave my polaroid sunnies on after fishing. You see some of that discolouring but it's not as severe as the small distracting coloured swirls I see through my wife's windows with those sunnies on. Granted though the glass tempering is going to be different between the two cars, so may have nothing to do with metallic vs non-metallic, and more just the combination of the tint and glass... The effect was not seen through the same sunnies in either car before tinting.

Interesting, I have metal tint and Polaroid glasses don't have any issues...

Some tint is Polarised, this interfers with the view through the window if you have polarised glasses on, next time you're driving down the road and the car coming towards you has a purple windscreen, I think that means, that car has a polarised windscreen, looks something like a wave of colours,

Ill agree there got the crystalline myself and love it to just blows me away how much heat it seems to block out really love it and would definitely get it again. Didn't know about the polarised sunnies and metal tint i always wear Serengeti sunnies so ill keep an eye out if i see a metal tint car haha

Andrew, I went to the same chain store up here in R'Ham and the guys there were fantastic. I got darkest legal tint in the "Octane" film, we just got back from our trip to Melbourne and it must say this film is more than ok out in the elements. Not too dark at night either. Price you got is ok I got mine for $495 inc. GST.

I wear Serengeti's as well (polarised and photochromatic). I don't get any effect with my tint. Strange.

Yeah that's them I haven't noticed anything either, maybe I haven't had metal tint in a car to notice not sure.
