    Gordon,
Would the book be worth getting for someone who is mainly going to use his d4 to tow a van.

I may do some 4wd driving and will tow over the various tracks around the country but nothing extreme, I think

Hmm - well I obviously have a vested interest in selling you a copy, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but yes, I think it would be worthwhile for any owner.

    Cheers,

    Richard,

Gordon is too modest! It is a great reference document for all of the issues, systems and features of the LR and goes well beyond what you can find out from the owners manual or the FAQ's on this forum.

I've been scratching my head trying to figure out what size tyres Glenno is running on his disco 4. By looking at the photos on the Low Range website https://lowrange.tv/the-team/, I can see that he is running cooper discoverer STT. The only size that I know of in STT that would fit is the 275/65R18, which have a diameter of 814mm. The thing that has got me stumped, is that he has been able to fit his spare tyre under the back of the vehicle. I have just experienced how hard it was to fit my spare 265/65R18 BFG A/T (799mm diameter) spare under the back of my disco (fully deflated, heat shield removed, ratchet strap around diameter and a touch of angle grinder work). So I would have thought it impossible to fit a 275/65R18 under there!

I would love to know how he has done it, because I really wanted to fit mud terrains to my disco 4, but instead had to settle for A/Ts. I am assuming Coopers have started producing the STT in a smaller size maybe?

    Anyone got the inside info??

I picked up on the Brembo gaff as well. I guess the main thing is that you need GOE wheels to fit over the large brakes, regardless of what brand they are.

I was also wondering about the STT's and came to the same conclusion re size. They don't look that big on the video so maybe Cooper have produced a smaller 18 inch tyre.

I swear I got an email from Pat Callinan or Unsealed4x4 stating that Cooper had three new sizes for the Australian market. I will dig it up.

The Achilles Desert Hawk Extreme MT is sold in a 265/60R18. Cheaper than the Coopers.

    Cheers,

    Gordon
