I normally keep it in my shoes on shore

Been very happy with it so far. Bit of a squeeze getting bulky key and fob in it, but works well.

I would definately recomend a safe of some sort, I had my Disco2 robbed after a thief watched where I hid the key before I went out kite surfing. I actually saw the door open, and thought it was a mate borrowing my kite pump, started heading in to see who it was and this bloke walked off as casual as you like with wallet, etc and the key!! They aren't smart but they know well enough to watch from a distance if you are hiding a key.

			Key Safe

This is what we use, and works well. Only fits the D4 key by itself though.

Good if your hitch is not attched all the time, as ours isn't.

Why not get a key cut matching the emergency / manually entry key and use that to lock up and take it with you?

According to the Owners Handbook it can be shielded inside a metal container. So try a sweets tin or the like.

Seeing you have a 12 model year, if you slip the chrome part of the key fob apart, you have a key.
All u need to do is lock the fob in the vehicle & take the blade with you.
 Cheers
