Its a 2.7, so same engine as a D3 and not such a dumb question.

I have no doubt it is a well set up D4 and have seen it on the road as well (and also no return wave). But why the misleading ad claiming to be a later and higher spec model year with the 3.0L and 8 speed?
Left a message with the dealer pointing out the discrepancy. Had a returned missed call but have not called back yet.
Anyone looking to buy - you definitely want to make the most of the incorrect info when negotiating.
Maybe we should all arrange a AULRO outing where we all rock up one after the other, take for an extended test drive, then point out the error and walk. Anyone keen on it could pick up a bargain after the dealer has been confronted enough times!
Could be a fun day to give a Toy Dealer a taste of their own medicine......
Ads have been corrected. The D4 has lost 300cc and 2 gears and is now a 2012MY....message must have got through eventually!
One lesson in this is to be aware that even Car Facts reports can be misleading if the dealer loads up the wrong data to start with. You may enter the correct VIN but does not mean the report will bring up the correct car!
Did price go down commensurately?
If that's the same car as a client of mine's (it seems to be missing a few accessories), then it certainly has been off-road, and was traded on another D4, so must have been off-loaded to the Toyota dealer.
