My wife managed to lock the keys in the boot of my 2 week old XR6 Turbo, a couple of years ago. :angel:
Wouldn't have been so bad, except the 4 month old baby was locked in the car, and I had the spare remote with me at work, 40mins away. :eek:
RAA called, attended, unlocked car, extracted keys & child - all within 6 mins.
Neither of us have ever risked that situation again.
I've generally found that most car salesmen would probably be better off going back to Retro Vision or Hardly Normal and selling fridges. A recent visit to a well known VW dealership in Perth with the young bloke to look at new Amoroks confirmed this view.Quote:

Oh well - at least the way this one is configured, it has no impact on the volume / capacity of the fridge compartment - and that is what really matters to us. But just goes to show that fridge salesmen know as much about the products that they are selling as car salesmen do. :p:p:p

Haven't connected it. Would mean that I've got to somehow run a water line under the kitchen floor (and there's no way that I would fit under there). Can't run it around the wall, as there's a brick chimney and wood stove between the nearest water supply and the fridge.
Now that I think of it though - might be able to come in from another direction. There's another bathroom on the opposite side of the house. :D

When I drop off my car at the dealers for a service, Wing, a recent immigrant who is finishing is uni studies and works there gives me a lift into work. When he is away they haul out a poor apprentice from out the back, dust him off and get him to give me a lift. I always apologise but they say, don't worry, it's good to get out and do something different. Ive heard all about the apprenticeship program at the two (one) dealers in Perth and how they do their actual study in Sydney and are flown over for one week intensives. Very interesting and an enjoyable chat.
Anyway my point is Ive spoken to two Landrover apprentices and both of them see their training as a stepping stone to becoming salesmen and then onwards and upwards! I was a bit gobsmacked tbh but good on them for having career plans/goals.
But if their dreams come to fruition, BMKal, they'd have a pretty good basis for knowing their product!

I don't trust the auto locking either, whether this is rational or not is debatable, if I am doing something where I don't want to be carrying the key in my pocket and have left it in the D4 then I always lower the drivers window.
So far the auto locking has never let us down, however just to be on the safe side when we go away anywhere we always take both sets of keys with us, the wife has one set and me the other. Mind you we also do this with the D3 and the Senator as well.
We did the same when we went to Tassie a while back Terry. Having a key fob each also has other benefits - such as SWMBO being able to put the shopping in the car without any need at all for me to step outside the pub. :angel:Quote:
