I've just been through the same exercise. Apart from all the points other guys have made, one way I look at the cost is that after 3 tyre changes, the wheels will have paid for themselves.
I am not sure though about the alignment issues on the suspension. Evidently there is a special mode for alignment? There is a "normal" suspension mode but evidently its not as good as the dealer enabled tyre alignment mode?
