I recently had to remove the GOE compressor plate, as it had filled with dirt, mud and sand - so started to sound like a chaff-cutter when the compressor was working. Ended up having to use my dremel to cut the head off one of the plate mounting bolts - as it only came out about 1cm before rust has stopped any more progress. Once I finish removing that bolt, I'll be sure to put some anti-seize paste on the new bolts before installing the plate! Oh, and also be drilling drain holes so the muck doesn't collect in there. ;)

I just found that after even moving it up there was still some touching of the bottom of those cones even without movement that the compressor has with the flexible mounts it has. My holes may make it easier for the water / crap to clear from the housing but also let it in easier too!

This is what I decided to do ... modified the plate's trailing edge. All sorted:BigThumb:
I had a similar issue to Rich, still touching after adjustment to compressor mounting plate.
But I only had the issue at the rear-most foot and you can see the cut-out I made towards the bottom of the photo.

Perhaps a slight design change is in order. It would just take a small change to the bend angles to give slightly more room for the lowest foot. For me, the other two feet remained clear of the plate.
Also, the way the slots have been cut means that the plate is not quite flat and as the bolts are torqued the plate changes angle slightly as it tightens up on to the slider.

Just thought I'd add to the discussion, installed my GOE compressor guard today and nothing touches. Not sure if Gordon's changed the angles but all went very easy.
