couple of issues

cleaned both of mine today and it is running better. Better pick up too.


Now I did check the turbo vane actuator and while I can move the arm back and forth freely I can not feel the actuator rod.


I'm thinking the dealer must have removed it for some weird reason.


No idea why though??????? Why would you disconnect the rod from the actuator?

Cleaning out the MAP sensor with a small jewellers screwdriver or pocking anything down that hole can easily damage the sensor, it is not recommended. Use a spray such as electronic contact cleaner as to not damage the sensor!

I have just done mine and it looked very dirty just like LGM's sensor. I used MAF cleaner spray and some cotton buds wet with the spray. I will do it and the 2 MAF's in 30-40,000k.

Cleaned both of mines yesterday, running a lot better. The MAF sensor clean made a big difference.


Agree with other comments, don't go poking anything down the hole on the MAP sensor, I clean mine to start with carby cleaner then finish with MAF cleaner which is essentially a Freon type substance.

I did not poke the little screw driver down the hole but needed to break the gunk around the base and clear the hole for the spray and cotton buds etc.

Anyhow it all worked.

Took the D4 for a lunch at the pub run. She's running sweet as! Certainly better than before!!!!!:D

No for SWMBO's D2 for a check and clean.

If my nanocom is giving zero readings on Mass Air Flow and Manifold Air Pressure, it must be the nanocom, cos otherwise the car would be running like a dog, right?
